WIP Wednesday: Mid Month Edition

So far it feels like 2014 is proceeding at the same warp speed as 2013! It's been an interesting month... I feel like I am getting a lot of sewing time in but since I haven't marked anything as DONE! yet it sets me a little on edge. Part of my transition from the Year of Finish to the Year of Simplify perhaps.

Along these lines I'm going to try changing up my WIP post to better reflect the different hats I'm wearing in my quilting room.

Planning Stage:
  1. Valentine's Day Plus quilt - cutting
  2. Pillow Pop SAL - fabric pull
  3. Winter Snowmen quilt - layout of charms and cutting sashing strips

Piecing Stage:
  1. Charmed Pinwheels - finish last 2 blocks, layout and sashing
  2. Road to Oklahoma - I'm halfway done with the star blocks and need another cutting session to replenish my parts. Plus I needed a break from the precise piecing required! I love these blocks - except for one that I'm going to unpick and switch the chain from yellow to blue. Can you spot it?
Quilting Stage:
  1. Christmas Strings
  2. Warm 16 Patches
  3. Flirtations Table Topper
The backing fabric arrived yesterday for Warm 16 Patches so I'm planning to get Charmed Pinwheels to flimsy stage by the end of the week and then I'll have a sandwiching/quilting marathon next week.
 Finishing Stage:
  1. Minnesota Hot Dish - binding
  2. Four Patch & Friends - binding
Elsa came home from the vet yesterday (spay and declaw) and is wanting lots of love and lap time. She gets a pain pill in the morning and that definitely helps her to relax. Poor thing! I'm thinking some binding and catching up on Downton Abbey are in the cards today.

I'm linking up to WIP Wednesday@Freshly Pieced.

  6. Poor Elsa - but at least she is getting lots of TLC.

Loved your different stages - definitely shows lots of progress even if something isn't done yet. Would you like any more snowman fabric? I have a couple of scraps of snowman print in my scrap bin that I would share.
