WIP Wednesday: Mid Month Edition

So far it feels like 2014 is proceeding at the same warp speed as 2013! It's been an interesting month... I feel like I am getting a lot of sewing time in but since I haven't marked anything as DONE! yet it sets me a little on edge. Part of my transition from the Year of Finish to the Year of Simplify perhaps.

Along these lines I'm going to try changing up my WIP post to better reflect the different hats I'm wearing in my quilting room.

Planning Stage:
  1. Valentine's Day Plus quilt - cutting
  2. Pillow Pop SAL - fabric pull
  3. Winter Snowmen quilt - layout of charms and cutting sashing strips

Piecing Stage:
  1. Charmed Pinwheels - finish last 2 blocks, layout and sashing
  2. Road to Oklahoma - I'm halfway done with the star blocks and need another cutting session to replenish my parts. Plus I needed a break from the precise piecing required! I love these blocks - except for one that I'm going to unpick and switch the chain from yellow to blue. Can you spot it?
Quilting Stage:
  1. Christmas Strings
  2. Warm 16 Patches
  3. Flirtations Table Topper
The backing fabric arrived yesterday for Warm 16 Patches so I'm planning to get Charmed Pinwheels to flimsy stage by the end of the week and then I'll have a sandwiching/quilting marathon next week.
 Finishing Stage:
  1. Minnesota Hot Dish - binding
  2. Four Patch & Friends - binding
Elsa came home from the vet yesterday (spay and declaw) and is wanting lots of love and lap time. She gets a pain pill in the morning and that definitely helps her to relax. Poor thing! I'm thinking some binding and catching up on Downton Abbey are in the cards today.

I'm linking up to WIP Wednesday@Freshly Pieced.

  1. You have a little of everything to keep you going. Those snowmen are too cute. Have fun!

  2. Wow - you've got a lot of WIPs and they are looking great! I really like the colors in the warm 16 patch.

  3. Ahhh, your kitty is so cute!!! I love long hair cats, then again, I love short hair cats! I'm jealous of your WIP organization...that is my next WIP, making sense of my WIPs!

  4. Aww, Elsa is such a sweetie! Hope she heals up quickly!

  5. Your new friend is SO cute! And the camera LOVEs her.

  6. Poor Elsa - but at least she is getting lots of TLC.

Loved your different stages - definitely shows lots of progress even if something isn't done yet. Would you like any more snowman fabric? I have a couple of scraps of snowman print in my scrap bin that I would share.

  7. Elsa is such a beauty.... hope she feels better soon!

  8. Definitely an organized post....I sure recognize some of those snowman prints!!!!! I just love it when I have several tops to sandwich!!! Yours are so gorgeous!!!! Elsa looks comfy at the moment! Cozy hugs coming your direction...................

  9. Love your organization! And that Road to Oklahoma is looking fantastic!

  10. Love your projects. You sound like me-lots of projects in the various stages!!

  11. My goodness! You are so organized. I don't think I could cope with that many projects on the go at once!

  12. You look very organised with all your plans.

  13. You've got lots of fun projects going on! Sounds like you have relaxing plans. Hope your kitty feels better soon!

  14. Poor Elsa. She deserves lots of cuddling. I love all your projects. I find if I make a list and keep to it I get more done too. Hugs

  15. You're definitely wearing a stack of hats. Lots of WIP. Lots of progress. Lots of fun ahead. Thanks for the recap. Hopefully Elsa will be feeling healed and energetic before long.

  16. I have been catching up with your posts. I see you are staying busy. Thanks for sharing those new books with us. The block book look like a really good one.
Glad to see Elsa is much better.
