My favorite Bob Dylan song says it all today... my design wall is filling up with blue!
I've started putting my RSC Sampler blocks along the bottom so I can keep track of which ones I still need to make. The top 3 were added this week and I think I have 2 more to be caught up. I'm also trying to train my eyes to get used a mix of blocks in one project (I've never been a big fan of sampler quilts).
These little blocks are really fun to make and I do like very much the "one and done" aspect of making them. Maybe that will help me to get over my sampler quilt issues!
I've also started some HSTs for a rainbow chevron quilt using 5" charms and Bella bleached white. Since I feel a little behind having to assemble my RSC13 blocks into 7 Project Linus quilts this year I thought making a row each month would streamline assembly at year end.
Next week I should be ready to make some more blue Road to Oklahoma Blocks. I had to remove a column to make room for Charming Snowmen... I'm halfway done (24) with the star blocks and then I have to make 32 border blocks. I am really digging deep into my blues for these and trying to avoid repeats as much as possible.
Here is a picture showing them all from my WIP Wednesday post.
I'm linking up to ScrapHappy Saturday@soscrappy and tomorrow I will link up to Scrapbasket Sunday@Kim's Big Quilting Adventure.
I've always loved to make things. Join me while I reboot my creativity, create a new quilting room and tackle LOTS of unfinished projects.
Deb your progress continues to amaze me!!! Keep up the awesome sewing!!!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness what an impressive design wall! I love all your projects.
ReplyDeleteHow fun seeing all your projects together. How big is your design wall?? I'd love to have one that big.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! So many lovely blues. I do hope you end up liking your sampler at the end. It think the rainbow theme will help tie it all together. I am bothered by "random" samplers too, but something with a unifying thread helps it tie together. If not, they were just scraps, right?
ReplyDeleteYou get so much done! Lovely progress
ReplyDeleteI have 2 blue RSC14 blocks made but am feeling a little impatient for next month's color. This will teach me some patience maybe.
ReplyDeleteThat snowman quilt just catches my eye. Such fun fabrics!
Lovely collection of blues. Love seeing everything up on the design wall.
ReplyDeleteYou've made good progress with the road to Oklahoma. Nice fabrics.
ReplyDeleteWow. You have a lot going on at the moment
ReplyDeleteFabulous design wall - lots going on!
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful projects. Hugs
ReplyDeleteWish I had a design wall that nice. (Or even a design wall at all). Road to Oklahoma is gorgeous and if you can make a cute charm quilt using different fabrics like charming snowmen and like it then a sampler quilt should be just as loveable using different blocks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a large design wall. I am glad to see I am not the only one who works on more than one project at a time. I love the blue Road to Oklahoma blocks. Keep on sewing.
ReplyDeleteI love your blocks and share your sampler phobia. Maybe we'll recover together!
ReplyDeleteWow - looks like Scraps Galore at your place! Love the yellow with the blue stars!!
ReplyDeleteCan't stop looking at your design wall! The blues and yellows go together so well, the snowman cozy quilt is gonna be so fun, and I share your sampler quilt issues :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed seeing all your blue projects...and now I'll be humming Bob Dylan all day!
ReplyDeleteWow, your design wall looks great!
ReplyDeleteYour design wall is like art itself - I love all the quilts you have up there! That star/chain one- very cool!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the blue and yellow so much. Really, really pretty.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, how do you get the time for all this? You must be a very fast worker!
ReplyDeleteSo many pretty projects! I love that snowman quilt and blue and yellow are such a classic combo. I love how those blocks look together.
