How about some crumb blocks...
And some Path and Stiles blocks from one of Pat Speth's Nickel Quilt books in Thimbleberries fabrics (another UFO from swap parts)...
Elsa helpfully minding the rest of the parts in the family room...I missed this picture in my last post of her help assembling Charming Snowmen...
Nothing like a little extra drag on the seam! She seems to alternate between wild play, careful observation, wild play and naps lately. So much energy for a little kitten.
Today I actually did what I set out to do yesterday...
Charmed Pinwheels is ready for trimming and binding. I love how the quilting turned out.
I am listening to a wonderful audiobook called "The Invention of Wings" by Sue Monk Kidd. After a string of duds (to put it politely!) I am totally enthralled with this one and ready to get back to it. Time to sandwich another top...
love the way that quilting looks, especially with the diagonal lines. And I'm glad that book is good because I just downloaded it to my Kindle but hadn't started it yet.
ReplyDeleteThe quilting on your pinwheel quilt is perfect! And that is one adorable picture of your quilting assistant!
ReplyDeleteGo Deb go!! I have 2 or 3 of those stiles and paths quilts started. I did a little quilting on my Juki today out of necessity also. Love the Vikings bag. Hope my son doesn't see it.
ReplyDeleteCrumb blocks are a fun way to use up those scraps! Great kwilting!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of Elsa - she seems like such a sweetheart.
ReplyDeleteDitto on the quilting - very effective.
ReplyDeleteGive Else a pet for me!
Charmed Pinwheels is a great pattern! And seeing sweet Elsa always makes me miss my Spock. Happy Stitching.
ReplyDeleteLove the quilting on the pinwheels quilt. Those path and stile blocks look fabulous - I'm sure they'll create an interesting secondary pattern. Elsa is so cute and so willing to help (like my Older Grandson who'll be four next month -- willing but is it really a help?)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your crumb blocks. To think I have been making those all along and did not know they had a name.
ReplyDeleteElsa is a beautiful cat and so in the quilting on your latest project. I'll have to look up The Invention of WIngs since I really enjoyed The Secret Life of Bees.
ReplyDeleteAll lovely and the pinwheels do look great!
ReplyDeleteWow...you got striking results with your quilting on the pinwheels. Can I steal a photo for my post on quilting layer design? :)
ReplyDeleteRosemary B here:
ReplyDeleteI just got this in my mailbox today on a sunny Saturday.
I think you did very well. I love the crumb blocks. Boy I have enough to do a billion of those
I want a Juki!! Is your mechanical? That is what I want.... soon.
Kitties, they make every day just a little bit extra special, and challenging. I love it when Pierro sits on my lap while I try to sew on my machine. He gets a little irritated that i am not giving him complete attention.
I adore the result of your project, the pinwheels are divine!
<3
OH! and I am glad to hear there is a good book out.
DeleteI loved "Bees". Mermaid Chair was a waste of time.....
love the crumbs especially and a no finish is not so bad when you've had such exquisite feline company lol
ReplyDeleteLots of lovely things on the go at your place. Love the pinwheels and your wonderful helper!
ReplyDeleteThe quilting on your charmed pinwheels is marvelous.
ReplyDeleteYour pinwheels are looking great. They look nice and flat from here. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the crumb blocks and the quilting on the pinwheel quilt xxx
ReplyDeleteYour path and stiles blocks are wonderful! So simple, but the light and darks make it really pop.
