Sunday Stash Report 2/17

I'm beginning to question my wisdom about doing these reports... it's beginning to take on a "confessional" tone in my mind. I'm really not a fabric hoarder! Just filling in some gaps.

But, here's the deal this week. I did legitimately NEED a binding fabric for my Reverse Applique Heart Pillow. And, I had some fabrics on my wishlist at Thousands of Bolts just waiting for an order (I like to fill up a Priority Flat Rate Box to get the most of shipping charges). I've fallen head over heels for grey, am stocking up on B&W fabrics and am having a love-fest with polka dots. These fabrics all were $4.95 a yard or less - love this site.
Lovely, aren't they?

I also bought some fabric to make a Barcelona Skirt later in the spring.  I'm excited!

  • Used this Week: 2 yards
    • 2 for Reverse Applique Heart Pillow & Triple Zip Pouch
  • Used Year to Date: 64.5 yards
  • Added this Week: 31.5 yards
    • 2.5 @Sew Bee It Quilting
    • 29 @Thousands of Bolts
  • Added Year to Date: 157 yards
  • Net Added for 2013: 92.5 yards
  • YTD Used for Charity: 34 yards (53% of total used)

  • Gulp... I'm linking up to Patchwork Times and Sunday Stash Report@Molli Sparkles.

    1. All your new fabrics look great. As long as you sew something each week I don't think it matters if you add to the stash.

    2. I never cease to be amazed by the generosity of quilters. Your stash report shows you have already used 34 yards if fabric for charity quilts, and it is only February! By the end of a year you have spent a tremendous amount on fabric and quilting supplies. A recent issue of American Patchwork and Quilting had a statistic showing that about 85% of quilts were given away. Obviously many of these were given to friends or family, but a lot also go to charity. Your willingness to donate so much is truly impressive.

    3. IMHO, you are touching your joy. People spend their lives searching for it. You've found it. Celebrate! (am checking out that thousand bolt site. although my quilting nook is pretty limited in space, plus I did promise myself that I would bring no fabric into the house until I started using up what I have... promises, promises... eh? heh-heh...)

    4. LOL!!! I know exactly what you mean Deb!! I had the same feeling last year, like I should feel guilty if I added fabric to my stash. My problem with that is that I LIKE adding to my stash! It is the major tool of my hobby! Without fabric, I can't make quilts - pretty simple. So I decided to just play along but without the numbers or the guilt. When I get new fabrics, I share them as eye candy! And I love showing off finishes of course. I just don't apologize for purchases anymore and I don't share numbers :*D

I absolutely LOVE the fabrics you added here - YUM!!!!
