Some of these blocks came from a Happy Block Swap on Yahoo! StashBuilders group and the rest I made to fill in enough blocks in this color range. These bright clear colors are so wonderful and I wish I had them all in my stash to recreate this quilt again and again.
This is my favorite block, isn't that chair fabric adorable?
I quilted this using freehand walking foot waves with white thread. So fun, fast and easy. I think it adds some nice movement without taking away from the pretty fabrics. The backing fabric was an an easy choice as it just seemed to mirror the colors in the blocks. I love using scrappy bindings on these Happy Block quilts.
"Color Me Happy" is UFO Finish #10 for 2013 and will be donated to Project Linus.
I'm linking up to TGIFF, Can I Get a Whoop Whoop, Let's Make Baby Quilts, Finish It Up Friday and Link a Finish Friday.
So cheery!
ReplyDeleteWow! Finish 10 ? Good on you! It is a lovely quilt and I agree about the quilting. Just enough.

Great finish. I've used the gently curving lines with a walking foot on a quilt too. I think we tend to forget that we can do that. For some quilts it is the perfect answer.
ReplyDeleteThose are some very HAPPY blocks. The quilt is adorable. I often use that curving line with a walking foot for the border. I'll have to try it on a whole quilt. It looks just great.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great quilt! I LOVE the fabrics and bright colors - so happy! That chair fabric is from Nancy Wolff - I LOVE her stuff and have a little stash of her fabrics. I don't think she's doing fabric anymore - too bad - I'd buy anything she designed.
