This was not part of my original plan at all. I was looking for the J-cats yesterday and found them fast asleep in my daughter's room. My daughter has not lived with us since the summer of 2011 and is not likely to ever again as she is graduating from college this spring. She has a full time job lined up in her college city while she decides about future schooling over the next year.
Yesterday I was looking around and realized that there are some missed storage opportunities in her room. Like these empty drawers which amazingly enough are the perfect size for storing fabric wrapped on comic boards!
How have I missed this?I can't imagine an easier way to
I need to grab my bottle of Goo be Gone to clean that spot above.
There is a lot of new in this drawer... I've fallen hard for B&W (and polka dot) fabrics and have warmed up to grey so have been stalking sales. Mission accomplished! Can you guess that yellow is my favorite color?
I'm thinking about folding up FQs to store in the top drawers which are a bit less deep than the others. Maybe in some trays... I'll have to see what I have around the house.
Guess what? There is also an almost empty closet in this room too! Score!!
Hmm. Lets see, my daughter moves out in...9 years or so....guess I won't make any plans just yet ;)
ReplyDeleteHmm. I might have to rethink not letting my kids have dressers. The fit couldn't be more perfect.
ReplyDeleteI currently have my fabric in dresser drawers but it is not that neat -- it is folded and you see the spine but i thought comic boards would be to deep, looks like I'm going to have to try this out. You know you should just go ahead and make this a sewing studio (unless you have a bigger one already) cause the top of that dresser would easily convert into an ironing and cutting station as well.
ReplyDeleteOh my heart! What pretty drawers! I read your previous post too. That happened to me. I think I had to breathe into a paper bag ; ) glad it worked out ; )
ReplyDeleteYou have such a wonderful collection of fabrics! Your storage system just makes them shine even more! Well done!
ReplyDeletesmart idea! they look so nice.
ReplyDeleteWow...what a treasure trove you have! Love the new found storage and a closet to boot! I would probably just move in lock, stock and barrel!
ReplyDeleteWell done.
ReplyDeleteWhat are comic boards? I love how neat and organized your fabric looks!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Can you come to my house?
ReplyDeleteI feel like I just stepped into a quilt store!! Can I start buying!!! Looks great and I'm like you......really getting into the B/W prints.
ReplyDeleteWow! That looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed! Your fabric stash is beautiful! Love the drawers!
