Miss Elsa who my husband rescued from bone chilling temperatures of -25 on Friday night is officially a family member! No one is looking for her and she got poked with several needles at our vet yesterday but was pronounced healthy and adorable.
She is a total lap and people kitty which means sewing has been on the back burner but today we are going to try and work out a truce while introducing to her to life in the quilting room. She loves to snuggle on a quilt... not sure what she will think about the making phase. Hopefully a soft place for her to nap will do. Trimming these Christmas string blocks is first on our agenda with my new Square It Up Ruler.
Our tree is up but empty. So far Elsa doesn't find it too interesting (she'd rather Elsa also has been a great "helper" on this post by randomly walking all over the keyboard. It's nice to have a co-writer on the job although I do prefer her desk help. Or her supervision from my lap where she is purring madly at the moment!
What's Hot:
- Christmas Strings
- Hand sewing binding on Christmas Fantasy (back from my LAQ!)
- Charmed Pinwheels is on the leader/ender design wall.
- Small projects I've been procrastinating on
- Elsa time!!
- Trying to keep up with Giveaway Day. Mine is HERE if you missed it.
I'm linking up to WIP Wednesday@Freshly Pieced.
So glad you rescued this sweet little kitty. I'm sure you will have hours and hours of pleasure in the sewing room with her. The Christmas strings are looking good.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable kitty!!! Those Christmas string blocks look really fun as well.
ReplyDeleteTwo cute kitties. Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute kitty and cat!!! My cat is always determined to sit on whatever I'm doing too...the fabric, cutting board, computer.......
ReplyDeleteA new (adorable) kitty is a great reason for a little less sewing time. We have a new puppy....Scooter.... and I bring her bed into the sewing room. She plays with her toys and sleeps right next to me. OK, she does occasionally help by pulling out fabrics and finding yarn skeins that need to be unwound, but mostly it's toys and sleeping.
ReplyDeleteWell. You didn't need the vet to pronounce her "adorable" ! Glad she's healthy and happy. And what cute photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing about your latest addition to your family!
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful cat! Nothing is more heartwarming than an affectionate cat - I think a cat purr is my very favorite sound. Sounds like you're more blessed by the rescue than she is:)
ReplyDeleteElsa is so adorable. At one time I had 12 strays that I took care of. They were feral kitties that had been abandoned by their mums at three months so me and my daughter tamed them all but they still had that wild side to them and as they got older they left one by one. My favourite one which was a Persian kitten was with me for a year and loved to come up on the kitchen roof to get into my sewing room, unfortunately he was run over by a car. They gave me so much joy. I'm sure Elsa will too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful kitty. The kitties that find you are always the best :)
ReplyDeleteOh she is sooooo cute. My daughter rescued 2 kittens recently, someone had thrown them in a bin :-(
ReplyDeleteThose Christmas strips are so colourful! Miss Elsa is adorable, bless you for rescuing her, she certainly seems to be happy in her new home :)
ReplyDeleteAwwww such a sweet holiday story, with your loving adoption of little miss Elsa! Tucker is very kind to be tolerant (so far, anyway! lol), and they are both gorgeous! God bless you for your big heart to give her a home and all the love!
ReplyDeleteSusie
Adorable addition - just in time for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteOhhh such a gorgeous kitty
ReplyDeleteOh, so cute! Love the photo of her under the tree.
ReplyDeleteElsa is a beauty. Sounds like you hit the kitty jackpot. Nice of Tucker to be so accommodating. Enjoy.
ReplyDeletesuch a cute kitten and it will be interesting to see what phase of quilt making she enjoys most - other than snuggling on top of them
ReplyDeleteI love your Elsa photos; she IS adorable. And Tucker is so regal. So glad he is tolerating the newcomer. Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute little kitty!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, she is beautiful. I would have a hard time getting anything done as well.
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of she and Tucker under the tree. He looks like a giant! (Is he a Tonkinese, Burmese, or Siamese kitty? He looks like my Coco....only a gazillion times bigger.)
So glad you were able to welcome a cold stray kitty into your warm quilty home.
What a couple of furry sweeties you have there! I'm a new follower, here today thanks to Val's Sunday Organising. Looking forward to trying to keep up! :-)
ReplyDeleteIt sure is a cat's life!!
ReplyDeleteShe is gorgeous! Looks like she may be part Maine Coon? Our youngest cat was born to a stray Maine coon and he has the sweetest disposition.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable kitten and what a handsome boy Tucker boy is. I love my cat helpers and it's always nice to see other peoples little helpers.
