Happy to be Scrappy

Scraptastic Tuesday
I've been following Leanne@she can quilt since she hosted the Finish-A-Long in 2013 and I've really enjoyed following this series since she started it last fall. Now that I'm getting my bloggy life back on track I'm looking forward to participating too.

I am a scrappy quilter. When I took a look through my UFO Collection this feeling turned into a fact - 42 of my 43 UFOs are scrappy. The only one that isn't (the 1st one on my UFO Collection Tab above) is one that I'm seriously thinking about turning into a pieced backing. A 4 fabric wall quilt just doesn't do it for me anymore!
My design wall is full of scrappy happiness today in three different styles of fabrics and quilts. All of which I enjoy very much. Path & Stiles in Thimbleberries is very traditional and it fits our family room decor perfectly. It's so cozy for our long winters.
I last worked on Path & Stiles about a year ago. Many of the sub units came from an online swap group and I had to piece a few extras from my stash to make the 20 blocks I needed. I have no idea why I left it with 4 rows sewn together and the last one partially done! At least I marked rows 3,4 and 5 so I didn't have to do much guesswork.

This quilt is from one of the Nickel Quilt books by Pat Speth. The pattern has a pieced outer border in 2.5" strips that I don't care for... it is just too busy for me and I don't like trying to match up 2" intervals across an inner border either. I can let some things go in my quilting... but I'm a stickler on points and even rows. I'm going to dig around in my stash and see what I can find.
Yep... I'm Happy to be Scrappy. Look at all those pretty bits of fabric!
