My Happy Place

I wanted to share a few quick pictures of what's underway in my quilting room today. I'm working out the layout for my scrappy Strip Stacks quilt (pattern by G.E. Designs) on my design wall.
It is SO motivating to fill up these walls with "Quilt Art"!  Here's a horizontal photo so you can see the rest of my blocks for my current leader/ender project (also a UFO) called Arkansas Crossing from the book "Quilts from the Heart" by Karin Renaud. It dawned on me last month that I should use my UFOs that are still in piecing stage as leader/enders now that I've finished a lot of the low hanging fruit!
Both of these projects share the same white on white background fabric. I spent a good hour+ yesterday looking EVERYWHERE multiple times over to find the rest of it - finally located it in a box of mostly new fabrics (everything but that of course!). Guess my packing for the move to this room wasn't quite as organized as I'd thought.

Here are the four short blocks being prepped on the floor...
because my cutting table is wonderfully occupied at the moment.
I'm hoping my table keeps being messy and my design wall ever changing throughout August!

  9. My sewing room is such a mess I doubt I could find anything in there. I feel less and less inclined to craft and even less inclined to tidy! I guess I'll just have to jump in and do it, whether I feel like it or not. We had plans to rip everything out and sort it all this weekend -- but I think WM has made other plans now! Your sewing room is such an inspiration and your bright happy projects make me smile!
