I am happy to be sewing with pink scraps this month for RSC15. I know it is one of those love it/don't love it colors but I'm a big fan of pink. It's an overcast morning so my pics are not the best today.
5 pink bowtie blocks have been made from my scraps and I also found a couple more blue scraps to add to the mix this week.
These blocks go together very quickly and I do LOVE a diagonal layout created when blocks come together. I've admired this quilt for years so it's fun to see it start to take shape. I'm using 4" squares with 2.5" corners. The background is a tone on tone white - I'll try for a close-up picture in March.
I caught Elsa in mid yawn the other day while she was observing my work from the corner of my sewing table. Doesn't it look like I just told her some scintillating news? {Gasp!} Do tell... or maybe I've just been watching too much Downton Abbey this week.
Oh, and looking at this pic now reminds me of my Happy Dance moment from yesterday - Strip Stacks in Blue & Brown is FINALLY off my design wall after months of waiting to become a flimsy. Maybe now that I've given on using it as motivation for A Lovely Year of Finishes it will actually see the Finish Line soon. As soon as the sun comes back I'll get some pictures taken.
I'm linking up with the rest of the scrappy quilters for ScrapHappy Saturday@soscrappy.
I've always loved to make things. Join me while I reboot my creativity, create a new quilting room and tackle LOTS of unfinished projects.

Love your snowball blocks. The problem with RSC for me is that I see everyone else's projects and want to make what they are making!
ReplyDeleteThe picture of Elsa is perfect! It so totally goes with a "gasp".

ReplyDeleteLove how your bow ties are coming together! I'm not really a fan of pink but I do have a pink and purple row-by-row quilt in progress since last year when pink was the colour for February. I just need to pull all the parts together and see where I'm up to!
ReplyDeleteI love bowtie blocks, especially when they are put together to make the circular shape like you have. I used them in a previous rainbow colored quilt top and make just have to do some again soon.
